Overview

Social Link Preview is a product MVP I built and launched — a free tool to validate, debug, and improve how links appear when shared on social platforms.

Problem / goal

Sharing a link that shows the wrong image, title, or description is a common pain point for developers, marketers, and indie builders. Existing workflows are often scattered across platform debuggers and docs.

Goals:

  • Validate OG/meta tags across major platforms in one session
  • Help users generate and refine meta tags and OG images
  • Ship a usable MVP with SEO growth potential
  • Lay groundwork for future monetization (AdSense, subscriptions)

What I built

  • Open Graph and meta tag validation for 11 platforms
  • Link preview checking and cache refresh guidance
  • Meta tag generation helpers
  • OG image design/preview workflow
  • Production-ready deployed product at scale for organic search

Tech stack

Layer Choice
Frontend Modern web stack (component-based UI)
SEO Structured pages, meta optimization, search-focused content
Hosting Cloud production deployment
Product MVP → iterate based on usage and rankings

Highlights

  • Shipped product, not just a portfolio demo — real users and SEO trajectory
  • Multi-platform scope — one tool instead of jumping between Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn debuggers, etc.
  • Builder mindset — designed for iteration toward revenue (ads or subscription later)

Challenges and learnings

Challenge: Making a technical SEO tool feel approachable for non-experts while staying useful for developers.

Approach: Single-session workflow: paste URL → see issues → get fixes → refresh caches.

Takeaway: Product MVPs benefit from one clear job-to-be-done; feature breadth (11 platforms) is the differentiator here.

What’s next

  • Grow organic traffic through SEO content and tool improvements
  • Explore AdSense and/or subscription features based on usage
